Neck pain: Is
it all in your head?
For the most part, yes - neck
pain is all in our head!
But to be more specific,
it's really the structures that support the 8 lbs. of the human
head. Lets take a look:

Poor Posture:
Poor posture places
tremendous stress on the muscles in the back of the neck. It also causes
the neck joints to "lock-up" and limit our head turning to the two
uppermost joints of the neck.
Some Signs of
Distress
-
Protruding head
- Hunched back
- Rounded shoulders
- Tense muscles in the
neck and shoulders
Proper
Posture:
Proper posture in the entire
body results in the optimal alignment of all the joints of the spine and
minimizes the strain on the supporting muscles.
This position also allows you
to use all the joints in your neck, thereby improving your range of
motion.
But my
muscles are sore!
Its not that the muscles are
weak - they are pulling against an immoveable object. Joint restriction
(called Subluxations) in your spine effectively pull back against the
muscles. You can correct your posture to near perfect, but if you don't
get rid of your Subluxations you'll never get complete recovery.

Subluxations!
